‘He is an important player for our team’ – Konyaspor’s Korkmaz acknowledges Miya’s contribution

Konyaspor head coach Bulent Korkmaz acknowledged the importance of ‘star player’ Farouk Miya to his team after the Ugandan international found the back of the net twice as his side stunned Istanbul Basaksehir 4-3 in the Turkish Super ligue

Speaking during the press conference after the match, Korkmaz said Miya is an important player of his team and had an impressive game against Instabul.

“As I always say, Miya is an important player of this team. We could not make much use of him because of his disability,” He said.

“But today he played an impressive game and contributed to the score with 2 goals. The important thing is the success of the team. This happened today, ” He added.

Miya has scored a total of eight league goals, registered one assist and got booked on four occasions in the 24 games he has played this term.

After the 4-3 win over the log leaders, Konyaspor now sits 14th on 33 points, one above the relegation zone with 2 games (Trabzonspor (away) and Alanyaspor (home) to go.
