FWSL: Nabukenya brace takes Kawempe Muslim past Kampala Queens

A first half brace from Agnes Nabukenya helped Kawempe Muslim comfortably sail past defending Champions Kampala Queens at the Omondi stadium in Lugogo on Wednesday evening.

The Queens were handed their maiden loss of the season having already drawn once this season and won three (3).

Twenty five (25) minutes into the game, Nabukenya netted the opening goal, capitalizing on a misplaced pass by Queens shot stopper Daisy Nakaziro.

With a minute left to play on the first half, Nabukenya doubled Kawempe’s lead tapping in a well laid Samalie Nakacwa ball from the right.

With end to end attacking progress on each side, Kampala Queens who didn’t get a lot of clear chances but failed to capitalize on the few.

This means Charles Ayeikoh loses his first game in charge and will look forward to improving the Kabojja based side depending on what he’s seen today.

With a game in hand, Ayub Khalifa’s army of Kawempe Muslim now occupy top spot ahead of the Kampala Queens, level on points (10) but with a better goal difference of 4 goals on 2.

In their next games, the Queens will take a trip to Masindi to face Lady Doves on Sunday 7th January as Kawempe host Wakiso Hill a day earlier.
