FWSL: Kampala Queens humiliate She Maroons to return top of the League

Kampala Queens defeated She Maroons 5-1 in an evening game played at MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo.

The hosts took the lead in the 8th minute through a Justine Najjuko own goal and two minutes later, returnee Hasifah Nassuna doubled the score to make it 2-0.

Three minutes after restart, Zaina Nandede got the third goal for the Queens only for Catherine Nagadya and Sumaya Komuntale to seal it off in the 54th and 57th minute respectively.

However Winnie Kyomugisha scored the only consolation goal for the Prisons side in their 5-1 defeat.

This result meant that the Queens returned top of the log with 16 points, one ahead of Kawempe Muslim who earlier drew goalless with bottom side Asubo Ladies at Kampala Quality school grounds.

In the other games of the day, Makerere University settled for a 1-1 draw against Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC at the Makerere play grounds.

Sharon Namatovu put hosts Makerere ahead, 20 minutes into the game  before Angel Auki levelled the matters for the visitors in the six minutes into the second half.

Norah Alupo and Everline Nandera late goals in the 85th and 90th secured an away win for lady Doves against Wakiso Hill at the St Mary’s Stadium kitende.

The upcoming games on Match day 8 will see Kawempe Muslim host Lady Doves at the Kawempe Muslim play ground as Asubo Ladies return to Kampala Quality school on 17th January to play Kampala Queens.

For Wakiso Hill, they will pay a courtsey visit to the St Gerald’s stadium Lubaga and face Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC.

She Maroons will also travel to Rines SS at Kabaka kyabagu stadium while Makerere University university will visit UCU Lady Cardinals at the UCU grounds in Mukono.
