The FUFA Big League title and promotion race continued to intensify over the weekend as western Uganda side Kigezi Homeboyz FC strengthened their push for top-flight football with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Iganga United FC.

In a tense encounter played in Kabale, clear-cut chances were limited for large parts of the game as both sides approached the contest cautiously, aware of the importance of the result at this stage of the season.

With pressure mounting and the game seemingly headed for a stalemate, Rwothomio Kemis emerged as the hero for Homeboyz, breaking the deadlock in the 77th minute to hand the hosts a vital three points.

The victory keeps Kigezi Homeboyz firmly in contention for promotion to the Uganda Premier League as they continue their impressive campaign in the FUFA Big League.

Throughout the match, the home side maintained steady attacking pressure and showed determination in search of the decisive goal, reflecting their growing ambition to secure a historic place among Uganda’s football elite.

Elsewhere across the league, table leaders Blacks Power FC remained on course with a narrow but important 1–0 victory to maintain their strong position at the top.

Kiyinda Boys FC also secured maximum points after a comfortable 2–0 win over Paidha Black Angels FC, while Ntugasaze FC delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend with a dominant 3–0 victory against Wakiso Giants FC.

In another closely contested fixture, Onduparaka FC and Young Elephant FC shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw after an evenly balanced contest.

Meanwhile, Bunyaruguru United FC edged CATDA FC 1–0, underlining once again how slim margins continue to define the race in the Big League.

With only a few fixtures remaining before the season concludes, the standings remain extremely tight, setting up an exciting finish in both the promotion and survival battles.
