Real star Awards winners for the month of June.


The June ForteBet Real stars awards were held at the Lazio restaurant in Lugogo on Tuesday 4th July morning.

The awards which are staged by the Real stars sports agency are sponsored by ForteBet and Jude Colour solutions were graced by assistant media Manager Fortebet Resty Mbatidde and Caroline Auma – media coordinator Hariss International.

This time, there were six sports disciplines Cricket, Table tennis, Handball, Motorcross, rally and Special Olympics.

The event started with awarding a winner from the Table tennis category as Parvin Nangonzi beat off competition from both Samuel Anukunda and Benjamin Achuma after her win in the Ladies singles at the Korea friendship Championship in Lugogo to win her second Real star award.

The second award on the day was given to UPDF’s Edmond Omonyi, a goalkeeper who put up 51 saves, 3 Assists and 1 Steal with his club standing second on the league log to edge the June award over Joyce Namutosi and Umar Isa.

In the game of Cricket which had three nominees in Both Raziat Ali Shah, Henry Ssenyondo who helped the Cricket Cranes win the ingural Continental T20 Cup in Kenya and Consy Aweko who captained the Victoria Pearls and finished 2nd at the Kwibuka T20 Cup.

But unlike all the other times Riziat and Aweko have been bagging the award, this time round Henry Ssenyondo won the award of June 2023.

In the special olympics category, swimmer Larry Feni who won a gold medal at the 2023 edition of the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin beat competition from Praise Odoi and Cleopatra Rhabaha, a tennis player who won a silver medal in the same competition to take home the award.

Youngster Gift Ssebuguzi clintched the Motorcross category award as he edged both Hellena Birungi and Miguel Katende while in the rally category Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba who came out on top at the Hoima Rally did the same in the awards as they conqured Posiano Lwakataka /Paul Musaazi and Ibrahim Lubega( Pasuwa)/ Ibrahim Sserwoga.
