Club football returned after close to two weeks of international football break, and a couple of Ugandan professionals were in action with their respective teams over the weekend. This is how they fared in the different leagues across the globe.

Starting off in England, Striker Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru was introduced in the 87th minute for Duncan Watmore as Middlesbrough FC drew 1-all with Milwall in the English Championship.

In the English League One, Jordan Obita featured full-time as Wycombe Wanderers secured a 1-0 victory over Bolton, while in the English Non-League, Elvis Bwomono was still out with an injury as his side, Southend United lost 1-0 to Grimsby Town.

In Scotland, defender Bevis Mugabi featured full-time for Motherwell FC as they defeated Hearts FC 2-0 in the Scottish Premiership.

In Ireland, Melvyn Lorenzen didn’t make the match day squad for Sligo Rovers as they drew 1-all with Bohemians in the League of Ireland Premier League.

In Denmark, Moses Opondo was brought on in the 72nd minute for Emmanuel Sabbi and it took him only three minutes to make an assist as his side, Odense Boldkub lost 3-2 to Viborg in the Danish Superleague.

In the Danish 2nd Division, Robert Kakeeto featured for Skive as they drew goalless with FA 2000.

In Germany, Herbert Bockhorn was a second-half substitute as his side, VFL Bochum lost 1-0 to Bayern Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.

In Sweden, Alexis Bbaka was absent from the match day squad as Umea FC secured a 4-2 victory over Taby in the Swedish Division 1.

In Portugal, Edrisa Lubega was still out injured as Estrella Da Amadora lost 2-0 to Vizela FC in the Taca de Portugal.

In Czech Republic, Isaac Muleme featured full-time for Victoria Zzikov as they drew goalless with Taborsko in the Czech Republic National Football League.

In South Africa, Denis Onyango started in goal and kept a clean sheet for Mamelodi Sundowns as they drew goalless with Cape Town FC in the DSTV Premiership.

Ismail Watenga didn’t make the match day squad as Chippa defeated Baroka Swallows 1-0 while Moses Waiswa Ndondi was not used as Supersports United lost 2-1 to Gallants.

Jamal Salim featured for Pretoria Callies as they lost 1-0 to Leopards.

In Algeria, Allan Okello was on target for Paradou AC as they defeated NC Magra 3-1. The former KCCA striker was on target in the 59th minute to restore his side’s lead.

In Zambia, Keziron Kizito featured full-time and made an assist for Buildcon FC as they drew 1-all with Indeni FC in the Zambian Premier League, while Shafik Batambuze and Hashim Ssempala featured for Kabwe Warriors as they secured a 2-0 victory over Lusaka Dynamos.

In Swaziland, Bashir Mutanda featured for Mbabane Swallows as they drew 2-all with Vovovo in the Swazi MTN Premier League.

In Congo, Allan Katerega was on target for Lupopo FC as they defeated AC Kuya Sport 4-2 in the Vodacom Congolese Linafoot. Kateraga’s goal came in the 4th minute of the game.

In Tanzania, Taddeo Lwanga was absent from the match day squad due to an injury as Simba SC claimed a 3-1 victory over Ruvu Shooting in the NBC Premier League. Still, in the NBC premiership, Khalid Aucho also sat out as Young Africans drew 1-all with Namungo FC while Mathias Kigonya started in goal for Adam FC as they lost 2-1 to KMC.

In North America, Mustafa Kizza didn’t make the match day squad as his side, Montreal Impact won the Canadian Cup after beating Toronto FC 1-0 in the final. This is Kizza’s first trophy at Montreal.
