Diaspora: How Ugandan professionals abroad fared over the weekend

A couple of Uganda players abroad were in action over the weekend. Some got valuable playing time while others remained unused on their respective team’s benches.

Fauzia Najjemba was the star of all as she was involved in five of the seven goals that her side, BIIK Kazygurt scored in Kazakhstan.

Here is how Najjemba and a couple more Ugandan pros. fared over the weekend.

Starting off in Scotland, Bevis Mugabi featured fulltime as Motherwell lost 2-1 to St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

In England, Jordan Obita featured fulltime as Wycombe Wanderers lost 3-0 to Bolton Athletics in the English League One.

Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru was absent as his side, Middlesbrough lost 3-2 to QPR in English Championship.

Ibra Sekagya was out as Dulwich Hamlet defeated Braintree Town 2-1 in English National League.

In Demark, Moses Opondo featured fulltime as his side, AC Horsen lost 1-0 to Randers in Denmark SuperLiga.

In Kazakhstan, Fauzia Najjemba netted a hattrick and two assists for BIIK Kazygurt as they humiliated Sdyurshor 7-0 in Kazakhstan Women’s Football Championship.

In USA, Aziz Kayondo featured fulltime for Real Monarch as they defeated Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 in MLS NextPro.

Steven Sserwadda was an unused substitute for New York Red Bulls as they drew goalless with DC United in Major League Soccer.

In Vietnam, Moses Oloya featured for Hai Phong as they defeated Da Nangih 1-0 in Vietnam League.

In South Africa, Jamal Salim Mugoola made his debut for Richards Bay and kept a clean sheet as they defeated Golden Arrows 2-0 in the DSTV Premiership.

Denis Onyango was unused for Mamelodi Sundowns as they secured a 2-0 victory over Cape Town City.

In Portugal, Mustafa Kizza was unused for Arouca FC as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to Benfica in Primeira Liga.

In Azerbaijan, Kizito Luwagga featured fulltime for Sabail FC as they lost 3-1 to Qarabag FK in Azerbaijan Premier League.

In Tanzania, Khalid Aucho featured for Young Africans as they lost 2-0 to Vipers SC in a pre season friendly.

In Turkey, Farouk Miya featured for Rizespor FC as they defeated Pazarspor 2-0 in the TFF First League.
