StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC has confirmed the signing of Murushid Juuko.
Juuko joins the Venoms on a two-year employment contract after having run down his contract at Express FC.
He makes a return to Vipers after nine years since he left the club for Victoria University in 2014.
“I have a fantastic history with this amazing club. I started my career here when l was young and of course I’m so happy to be back home after 9 years. So I’m really glad and looking forward to giving my best for this club once again,” Juuko told Vipers Media after putting pen to paper.
“I think it’s the best decision that I have made. It’s right on point in my opinion.
“I moved from Express FC now to Vipers SC, it’s a new chapter, I’m so happy and glad, and I want to carry on again, to make history, to try to help the Venoms achieve great results, to make a mark again.”
The 28-year old is former Uganda Cranes international after having announced his retirement from the national team early this year.
He has also previously featured for Simba SC and Wydad Casablanca in Morocco.
The experienced center back becomes Vipers’ eighth signing this window after Alfred Macumu Mudekereza, Olivier Osomba, Abubakar Lawal, Isa Mubiru, Marvin Joseph Youngman, Ashraf Mandela and Abdu Lumala.
Juuko is expected to replace Halid Lwaliwa, who is set to depart the club following the expiration of his contract.
