It was a wonderful weekend for some Ugandan players abroad with Umar Kasumba and Peter Lwasa getting on target in Kenya and Edward Kizza netting his first professional brace – this is how Ugandan pros fared over the weekend.
Starting off in Kenya, Umar Kasumba netted the winning goal as Bandari United defeated Kakamega HomeBoys 2-1 in the BetKing Kenyan Premier League. Kasumba’s strike came in the 81st to secure all three for his side.
Petr Lwasa once again was on target on the losing effort as his Kariobangi Sharks lost 3-2 to Mathare United.
In Scotland, Bevis Mugabi featured full-time as his side, Motherwell drew 1-all with St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premier League.
In England, Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru started and featured for 56 minutes as his side, Middlesbrough FC drew 1-all with Fulham in their English Championship opener.
In the Football League One, Jordan Obita featured full-time as Wycombe Wanderers secured a 2-1 victory over Accrington Stanley, while Elvis Bwomono was absent through injury as his side Southend United drew 1-all with Ebbsfleet United in a club friendly.
Heading to Denmark, Robert Kakeeto did not make it to the matchday squad as his side, AaB Aalborg secured a 2-0 victory over AGF in the Danish Super Ligue.
In the USA, Edward Kizza netted a brace for New England Revolution II as they secured a 3-0 victory over North Carolina in USL League One duel. Still, in the Major League Soccer, Mustafa Kizza was introduced in the 75th minute for Zorhan Bassong as his Montreal Impact side lost 2-1 to D.C. United.
In the Czech Republic, Isaac Muleme featured full-time and was cautioned as his side Viktoria Zizkov claimed a 2-0 victory over Pribram FK in the Czech Republic National football league.
In Portugal, Edrisa Lubega was introduced on in the 63rd minute as his side Estrella da Armado lost 2-0 to Matra in the Portuguese LigaPro.
