Cranes defender joins Albanian First Division


Uganda Cranes left back Godfrey Walusimbi joins Fk Vllaznia in the Albanian First Division league on a 1year contract.

The roving left back has been a free agent since partying ways with south African top side kaizer chiefs in January this year.

This development has been confirmed by the club’s official website “Shkodër has also signed defender Walusimbi Godfrey.

“The defender has signed a one-year deal and he is expected to arrive in Shkodra within this week as soon as his Albania VISA is sorted. The 30year old is the most capped Uganda cranes player with 100 appearances and 3goals

“With his experience, Godfrey is expected to be an important element for the Vllaznisë team in the defence department.”

Fk Vllaznia is based in the city of Shkoder and the oldest club in Albanian football created in 1919 and it’s one of the most successful clubs in Albania with nine league title and six Albania cups

Godfrey Walusimbi joins the list of other Ugandan players who have played in Albania the likes of Yunus Ssentamu, Tonny Mawejje among the rest.

First Division is the second level of professional football in Albania after Albanian Superliga
