The Uganda national football team will play two international friendly matches during the June 2026 FIFA international window in Morocco as preparations for future continental assignments continue.

According to Ahmed Hussein, Uganda will first face Tanzania national football team on 5th June 2026 before taking on Madagascar national football team on 8th June 2026.

The two matches will be played in Marrakech and are part of the Cranes’ preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania from 19th June to 17th July 2027.

FUFA says the friendlies will give the technical team another opportunity to assess players, strengthen squad depth and improve competitiveness ahead of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers and other upcoming CAF and FIFA competitions.

Uganda were recently drawn in Group H of the AFCON PAMOJA 2027 qualifiers alongside Tunisia, Libya and Botswana.

As one of the tournament co-hosts, Uganda have already secured automatic qualification for the finals, though they will still participate in the qualifiers for competitive preparation. Only one additional team from Group H will qualify for the tournament.
