Djibouti and Somalia share spoils in the opening game of the 2019 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup at Startimes Stadium Lugogo.
The Riverains had a chance to kill off the game in the 20th minute with Muhamed Foud’s close-range shot hitting the post. Djibouti continued to cause serious trouble on the Somalis defense which saw another Foud shot hitting the crossbar on the 30th mark.
The second stanza started with a heavy downpour which killed off the tempo of the game. Somalia made some counter-attacks from the wings through Omar Abdulahi and Abdelaziz Safimayon but the Djibouti defense was equal to the challenge.
Djibouti now leads the group A table with one point and Somalia is sitting the second place.
