Cambiasso Rainbow U20 Tournament: KCCA FC off to perfect start after humbling Ruvu Shooting

KCCA FC got their 2022 Cambiasso Rainbow U20 tournament off to a winning start as they humbled Ruvu Shooting 4-0 at Azam Sports Complex.

Faisal Wabyoona, Abubakar Mayanja and Mawejje Jovan netted for the Kasasiro Boys as they cruised past the Tanzanian side.

Wabyoona, who was signed during the ongoing transfer window from Big Talent Soccer Academy bulleted KCCA in lead early on in the game after receiving the ball from Andrew Kawooya to dribble past his marker before shooting.

KCCA then had a chance to make it two moments later but Haruna Lukwago shot wide after being wonderful set up by Dembe John Paul.

Despite creating alot of chance, the Kasasiro Boys waited until the 25th minute to get their second through an own goal by Ruvu Shooting goalkeeper Kibwana Musa who guided Ibrahim Juma’s cornerkick into his net.

Two minutes later, it was 3-0 for KCCA FC after brilliant and exquisite play by Saidi Mayanja who drizzled past several markers to set up Abubakar Mayanja. Mayanja calmly placed the ball past Kibwana.

After the restart, substitute Jovan extended KCCA’s with a tidy finish after he got tied up by Abubakar. Jovan had earlier came on for Yiga Alex.

With maximum points collected in their first game, KCCA move top of group C and will play Mtibwa Sugar next on Wednesday.

Only the team that finishes top of group C will advance to the semi-final that will be played on Saturday.
