Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ( KCCA FC) has advanced to the semi-finals of the 2022 Cambiasso Rainbow U20 tournament despite suffering a 2-0 to Mtibwa Sugar on Wednesday afternoon.
KCCA reserve team finish top of group C on goal difference after having second more goals than their group opponents ( Mtibwa Sugar and Ruvu Shooting) despite all three sides collecting three points in two games.
In the first game in this group, Ruvu Shooting beat Mtibwa Sugar 1-0 while the second game of the group saw KCCA humble Ruvu Shooting 4-0.
To the game played on Wednesday, youngster Ezekiel Ensobio netted twice for Mtibwa Sugar in first half to subject KCCA to their first loss.
KCCA, who spent more time on the receiving end had several goal scoring chance throughout the game from set-pieces but Faisal Wabyoona, Ibrahim Juma and Mawejje Jovan failed to get the ball past Mtibwa Sugar’s Toba Leonard Kutiisha.
They did enough though on the other end to restrict Mtibwa from scoring more goals and advance to the next round.
In the semi-finals, KCCA will face Montepellier HSC who finished top of group A that had Simba SC and Cambiasso Sports Academy.
