Stanbic Uganda Cup champions BUL FC have been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup at the first preliminary round by Future FC.
This is after the Ugandan side lost 1-0 to the Egyptian side in second leg game played at Cairo International Stadium in Egypt on Saturday night. The first leg of this tie had ended goalless in Uganda a week ago.
Future’s goal came in the 76th minute through Jonathan Ngwem’s sublime freekick just outside the box that curried past a helpless Saidi Keni.
BUL played most of the match a man less after one of their defenders, Walter Ochora was sent off by center referee Mahrez Melki for a reckless foul.
BUL almost levelled matters late on in the game, but Pascal Ngobi struck the post with just the goalkeeper left to beat
With the defeat, BUL gets eliminated at the first qualification stage on their continental debut.
For Future, they progress to the second qualification round where they will take on Sierra Leone’s Kallon FC, who eliminated Buffles du Borgou 4-0 on aggregate.
