CAF Champions League draw: Uganda Champions to face Sudanese Giants

Express win seventh, URA return to the continent as FUFA ends league

Uganda Champions Express FC will face Sudanese Giants Al-Merrikh in the 2021/22 CAF Champions League preliminary round.

The Red Eagles will host the first leg between September 10th and 12th before travelling to Sudan for the return on September 17-19th.

The winner between Express and Al-Merrikh will face either Equatorial Guinea’s Akanangui FC and Zanaco from Zambia in the second preliminary round.

Express are making their first appearance in the CAF Champions league since they last participated in it in 2012.

Last season, Uganda’s CAF Champions league representives, Vipers were eliminated by Sudanese Al-Hilal.

The last Ugandan club to make it to the group stages of the CAF Champions League was KCCA in 2018.
