Third place playoff: Mawokota 3-0 Buddu

Bulemeezi  emerged winners against Gomba in  this year’s Masaza Cup title in a final that was played at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Saturday afternoon.

Bulemeezi’s only goal on the day was netted by forward Johnson Ssenyonga through a great second-half strike to end the game 1-0.

Amidst a huge crowd of fans who came by to witness the much awaited game, Bulemeezi who were the underdogs started off the game brightly.

Ivan Kawooya who had the first attempt on goal for Bulemeezi failed to convert a cross from Herbert Asiimwe early on in the game.

There on, Gomba were on the front foot but struggled to put the ball in net with both Allan Oryiwoth failing to score on a couple of occasions.

In the second half, Bulemeezi came out stronger with constant attacks forcing a number of mistakes out of Gomba’s backline.

However Johnson Ssenyonga struck a good shot from outside the box to give Bulemeezi the lead.

In the remaining quarter an hour, Gomba once again came back on top attacking but it was comfortable for Bulemeezi after keeping both Kimera and Substitute Kayongo at per.

This means Bulemeezi have now secured their third Masaza Cup title.

In the third place playoff, Mawokota managed to achieve bronze after thumping Buddu 3-0 thanks to a Calvin Peter Emayu brace and Dennis Kkonde’s goal.
