Allan Okello wins Airtel FUFA Men’s players of the year Award


Allan Okello won the 2019 Airtel FUFA men’s player of the yeat Award.

The KCCA midfield maestro beat off competition from fellow Kasasiro-mate Mustafa Kizza and Proline’s Bright Anukani for this year’s top gong.

The 19-year old received the acolade on stage at the Speke Resort Munyonoyo where the awards were held on the Saturday night of the 14th Dec, 2019.

The youngster was also presented a brand new Subaru Forester courtesy of the award sponsors Airtel Uganda.

Okello won the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, the FUFA Super Cup, and the CECAFA Kagame Cup and was part of the Cranes team that qualified for the 2020 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) recently.

The winner was decided by a vote from all 16 SUPL coaches and Captains.

In the ladies categories, Juliet Nalukenge was voted the Airtel FUFA Women’s best player of the year ahead of Fauzia Najjemba and Hasifa Nassuna.

Nalukenge captained the Uganda U17 Girls national team to winning the COSAFA Championship and she emerged top scorer with 18 goals.She helped Kawempe Muslim to winning both the national and East Africa Secondary Schools championship and scored a record 62 goals in 2019.
