Kambale and Sentamu nominated for best player of the year award

Forwards Eric Kambale and Yunus Sentamu’s excellent performances have continued to yeild more fruits for them as the two got nominated for the Airtel FUFA Male best player of the year.

The two were nominated alongside Shafik Kagimu and youngsters Abdul Aziz Kayondo and Bobosi Byaruhanga.

This was revealed at the launch of the sixth edition today in Kampala, where Airtel  presented a dummy cheque of sh100m towards the event.

Sentamu and Kambale were instrumental for Vipers and Express respectively in the past year.

Sentamu was the SUPL topscorer with 16 goals and helped his side win the Stanbic Uganda Cup, scoring four goals in the final against BUL FC.

While Kambale helped Express FC win the Uganda Premier League and the CECAFA Kagame Club Championship in Tanzania, a title they won for their first time in history.

Fazila Ikwaput who guided Lady Doves to their first FUFA Women’s Super League is among the nominees for the Female player of the year. Others are Daisy Nakaziro, Joan Naggayi, Fauzia Najjemba and Margaret Kunihira.

The glorious event will take place on December 4th at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

This year, a total of 13 catergories will be considered and include:-

  • Category 1: Airtel–FUFA Male Player of the Year 2021
  • Category 2: Airtel –FUFA Female Player of the Year 2021
  • Category 3: Airtel–FUFA Coach of the Year 2021
  • Category 4: Airtel – FUFA Women Football Coach of the Year 2021 Category 5: Airtel-FUFA Beach Soccer Player of the Year 2021 Category 6: Airtel-FUFA Best XI 2021 (Men)
  • Category 7: Airtel-FUFA Best XI 2021 (Women)
  • Category 8: Airtel-FUFA Member Association Award 2021 Category 9: Airtel-FUFA Fair Play Award 2021
  • Category 10: Airtel-FUFA Futsal Player of the Year 2021 Category 11: Airtel-FUFA Presidential Award 2021
  • Category 12: Airtel–FUFA Fans’ Favorite Uganda foreign based Player 2021
  • Category 13: Best Squad (Club/National Team) of a Particular Year
