All set for LA League Season 3 tip-off


The highly anticipated season three of Light Academy Alumni League will finally tip off this Sunday 26th March, 2023 at Henry’s Sports Center in Kabalagala.

Two-time reigning defending champions Legends will start up their title defense against Mad Tings, last season’s runner-ups Galacticos will face the league’s new entrants Kabona FC while Bliss, who finished third last season will battle Vikings.

Despite having been victorious in all the past two seasons, Legends are yearning for more according to their captain Bush George Oceans.

“We have been training hard, we have been putting in the shift doing the good work.” Ocean noted before adding;

” Most of the players have been playing on the turf in the different corporate leagues in the off-season and I think we are more than ready and fit enough to win the league again”

“Despite winning the league two consecutive times, We respect our opponents very much because the competition last season was an eye-opener due to the opposition we faced. It was an indication that we still need to pull our socks up and do better so we come more determined to win this season”

“We intend to score more goals and defend better this season as we were never satisfied on how we approached both last season”

Meanwhile, Galacticos, who pushed Legends till the end have also set their targets high by focusing on the top prize.

“The target this season is to win.” Galacticos captain briefly said before adding;

“We are back and aiming for the top prize because we are focused on the goal at hand, and we belive in our selves that we can archive it.”

“Our game this weekend will be tough against a very strong and fit opponents, but the focus right now is on our team and we shall put our best and do everything in our power to win the game”

In the other fixtures on the opening weekend, Chiklops will face Locusts while Revolutionaries has Hornets.

At the end of the league, the winner this time round will walk away with Shs.750,000/= and the first runners-up will claim 350,000/.All winners and best performing players will be awarded medals at the end of the league.
