2024 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers: Queen Cranes start Campaign on good note

Uganda U-20 Women’s side, the Queen Cranes kicked off their 2024 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers campaign with a huge win against Mozambique at the Campo da ABB stadium on Saturday.

Thé girls from the Pearl of Africa thrashed the South African side by 6-0, scoring the first 4 in the opening half and the other two in the first.

A brace from Kawempe Muslim midfielder Anges Nabukenya and two solo strikes by Hadijah Nandago and Margaret Kunihira entertained the Uganda fans both at and away from home in the first half.

In the second half, Hadija Nandago and substitute Eva Naggayi sealed the victory for Uganda with two great strikes to pile more misery on the host nation.

The girls will have to maintain this performance in the reverse fixture on Friday 13th October 2023 as they host Mozambique at FUFA Technical, Njeru.

The winner on aggregate will face Benin or Senegal in next round.
