Why Express- Mbale Heroes clash was postponed

On Thursday afternoon, Uganda Premier league Club together with the UPL secretariat agreed to postpone the contest between Express FC and Mbale Heroes.

The game which was slated to kickoff their 2024/25 league season on Saturday, 14th September at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo was rescheduled for a reason.

The reason was the letter sent by Express FC to the Secretariat citing ongoing renovations at thier new home.

According to the Secretariat, the game has been rescheduled for Monday 16th at 7 pm at the same venue.

“The Secretariat is in receipt of a letter from Express requesting us to push their match against Mbale Heroes that has been scheduled for Saturday 14th September to Monday 16th September.” the letter read

“This is a temporary measure to allow the management of Hamz Stadium Nakivubo to finalize with some modifications at the stadium.” it concluded

For Express FC, they came out to acknowledge the postponement of their fixture Vs Mbale Heroes FC match to Monday 16th September at 7 pm;

“Our game against Mbale Heroes has been postponed to Monday 16th September 2024 at 7 pm due to some renovations at the Hamz stadium. We regret any inconvenience caused.”

This 2024/25 new season action will kickoff as KCCA FC lockhorn with URA FC on Friday in  Lugogo.
