Uganda Swimming Federation: Mwase replaces Rukare as President


Moses Mwase is the new Uganda Swimming Federation (USF) president after having been appointed by the Executive committee to replace Dr. Donald Rukare who stepped down as the federation head last month.

Dr.Rukare stepped down from his role as the Uganda Swimming President after  being  appointed the new National Council of Sports Chairman by the State Minister of Sports Hamson Obua on the 14th February 2020. Rukare had spent 15 years as the federation president since 2005.

The Executive committee have appointed Mwase (who was the secretary general) to fill the vacant Presidential position while  Albert Wasswa (who has been the Assistant Secretary general) will takes up the role of being the  Secretary general

The Assistant Secretary General duties will be handled by Mr. Max Kanyeerezi who will double as the competitions secretary in the new changes made.

The Executive committee has made the new appointments through the USF constitution clause C17.5 which was put into action on the 1st of January 2015.

The Executive shall have the power to fill vacant positions on the executive and shall thereafter report to the next Assembly of the Federation.

The Executive committee shall present the new President and the changes made to the next Assembly sitting on Saturday 21st March at the Uganda Swimming Federation offices
