Kibuli, a Kampala suburb was left with a few or no people on Saturday 31st August 2024 evening as many were at Club Obligato to witness their boxer play in Week 8 of the Uganda Boxing Champions League season 3.

Kemis Ibrahim is one of the boxers from Kibuli fleet had come to watch and he did not disappoint after he dominated Namungoona Boxing Club’s Yiga Ashraf  with a 5:0 unanimous decision by the judges.

The Elite 57Kg contest saw Mutajjazi Boxing Club’s current finest use all the energy he had in his tank in order to fulfil all promises made in the previous day during the weigh ins at the same venue, a motivation tool that saw him cruise past Yiga despite poor start.

Kaddu Julius is the other boxer who excited boxing fans after he won his second fight of the season 4:3 split against Kololo’s Sekyejwe Brian in the Elite 60Kgs.

Despite losing his first fight of this season 3, Kaddu who hails from Katabi boxing Club in Entebbe was set for an epic night, one that would demoralise him more or one that would raise his confidence.

However much it did not all go as he wanted in the ring, he managed to edge the Kalerwe – Lufula based boxer from Kololo Boxing Club with more of technique than power.

For the day’s main fight, rapid boxers Richard Kasujja and Edward Mukwaya alias Pastor wrapped up the night with giving fans a bit of everything that included pure entertainment.

On an evening, where many fans were anticipating what type of fight they were going to see a determined Kasujja got going from round 1, showing intent of knocking out Mukwaya.

In round 2, Mukwaya arose and went punch to punch with the Lukanga boxer who looked like he was already in flying mode, putting up a good show for the neutrals.

Heading into the 3rd and fourth round, Kasujja’s energy levels appeared like they were dropping but he managed to contain Mukwaya who managed to throw many punches but very few pointers, going on to lose 5-0.
