Jinja SS 130/8 beat Busoga College Mwiri 80 by 50 runs

Shree Sahajand School 100/9 beat King’s College Budo 98 all out by 1 wicket
Jinja Senior Secondary School (SSS) successfully defended their Schools Cricket Week title with a commanding 50-run victory over arch-rivals Busoga College Mwiri.
The defending champions showcased their mettle in front of an electrifying home crowd, securing back-to-back titles and their fifth overall.
After winning the toss, Jinja SSS opted to bat first.
Openers Richard Sohera and Magezi Ronald laid a steady foundation, playing with intent and rotating the strike well to keep the scoreboard moving.
Mwiri’s bowlers struggled to maintain pressure early on, conceding numerous singles that allowed Jinja to settle in.
The first boundary came in the 8th over, marking a shift in momentum.
Although Mwiri managed to apply some pressure by taking key wickets in the middle overs, a late surge from Jinja SSS powered them to a challenging total of 130/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
In response, Mwiri’s hopes rested heavily on Gerald Olipa, who delivered a valiant performance.
Olipa scored 40 runs, half of Mwiri’s total of 80, but lacked the necessary support from his teammates.
Only Eric Mukisa reached double figures, with his slow 11 off 35 balls adding pressure on Olipa to take risks.
When Olipa fell, Mwiri’s chase unraveled, leaving Jinja SSS to celebrate a well-earned victory.
Meanwhile, in the Plate Final, Shree Sahajand narrowly edged out King’s College Budo by 1 wicket in a thrilling finish.
King’s College Budo, who had previously won their last two games by a single run, saw their luck run out as Shree Sahajand held their nerve to secure the win.
