Kampala Queens FC made history on Sunday, June 21, 2026, by defeating Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC 2-0 to win their maiden FUFA Women’s Cup title at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.

Playing in their first-ever cup final, Kampala Queens delivered a composed performance against the newly crowned FUFA Women Super League champions, who were aiming to complete a domestic double.

The breakthrough came in the first half when Joanita Ainembabazi found the back of the net to hand Kampala Queens a deserved lead. The goal capped a bright opening period in which the Queens looked the more organized and threatening side.

Kawempe Muslim responded strongly after the break, pushing numbers forward in search of an equalizer. However, Kampala Queens remained resilient defensively and continued to pose a threat on the counterattack.

Their victory was sealed deep into stoppage time when Kamiyati Naigaga finished off a swift attacking move in the 90+1st minute, sparking wild celebrations among the Kampala Queens faithful.

The final whistle confirmed a landmark achievement for Kampala Queens, who claimed their first major knockout trophy and their first FUFA Women’s Cup crown at the first attempt. For Kawempe Muslim, the defeat ended hopes of securing a league and cup double despite an otherwise impressive season.
