City Oilers only nead one more win to record their 10th consecutive National Basketball League Title.

This came to light after their 72:70 win against KIU Titans on Sunday Night at the Lugogo Arena where they stretched their lead in the best of seven NBL playoffs final to 3:0.

It was still a 2point game at halftime 36:34 and KIU had a chance to take the game into overtime but fumbled on the last play.

Even with Oilers’ best player in the series Petty Parrish forced off after an injury in the 3rd quarter with only 2 points on the board, the nine time champions still had enough in them to cruise past KIU.

Fayed Baale led the charge for Oilers with 15pts, Titus Lual got 12 and a 10pt contribution from Veteran Ben Komakech who’s a coach-player this season.

KIU’s Mpiya Juf scored 24pts, the most by any player on the night.

In the women’s game played earlier before defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins pulled one back with a 72:54 win against UCU lady cannons after losing the first two games of this play off.
