Ugandan goalkeeper Giosue Bellagambi has completed a loan move to English Football League Two side Salford City.

Bellagambi joins Salford on loan from Huddersfield Town for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

“Delighted to join @SalfordCityFC on loan until the end of the season. The club is going in such a positive direction. I can’t wait to meet the fans😁” Bellagambi wrote on his Twitter handle after signing for Salford

The young goalkeeper spent the first half of the season on loan at National League North side Spennymoor Town before he returned to the Terriers early this year.

This is the seventh loan spell in senior football for Gio since he joined the Huddersfield Town Academy from London side Lambeth Tigers during the summer of 2018. As well as Spennymoor Town, he’s previously spent time with Ramsbottom United, Ebbsfleet United, Stalybridge Celtic, Brighouse Town and Hyde United.

He kept a clean sheet on his debut for Uganda Cranes against Libya in September 2022 in a friendly game.
