Transfers: Nabbumba finally joins Danish club

Crested Cranes midfielder Phiona Nabbumba has officially joined Danish side B.93 Women FC from She Corporate.

The former Rines and Ajax Queens midfielder will put has been given shirt number 3. She joins Ugandan goalkeeper Vanessa Karungi who is already a captain at the club.

After joining the Danish club, head coach Rasmus Good came forward to elaborate that;

“Phiona is a full national team player for Uganda, She has won the league with She Corporate, being voted player of the year in Uganda and played Champions League.” he said

“Everything in the recent season, so this is a player with great experience from international football, that we are adding to the roster and hopefully she will be a very impactfull player and help us achieve even more.” he concluded

For Nabbumba she hopes to win more trophies and score goals for her new team;

“I hope to help the team by scoring and making assists to get the team to the top” she said

“I am ready to work hard with my teammates so that we be victorious and win trophies” she concluded

Nabbumba has played for teams like Fimbo Soccer Academy – Nkumba, London College Women Football Club, Rines Women Football Club, Ajax Queens Football Club – Bulenga and She Corporate Women Football Club – Nakawa where she was voted MVP after they won the 2021/2022 FUFA Women Super League.

At national level she received her first international Cap against Kenya at the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) Qualifiers in 2018, went on to play in the 2018 CECAFA – Rwanda, 2018 COSAFA – South Africa, Tokyo Olympics qualifiers against Ethiopia, U20 World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania.

She also helped Uganda win the 2022 CECAFA senior challenge Cup – Njeru and also represented Uganda at the Africa Women Cup Of Nations in Morocco.
