Startimes UPL: Vipers eye summit as they make a trip to Jinja


Vipers are set to face hosts Gaddafi who are yet to lose a home game this season in the Startimes Uganda Premier league at Kakindu, Jinja on Sunday.

The soilder boys who lay 9th on the table with 12 points will hope to return to winning ways after their loss away to KCCA.

The Soilder boys will hope to bring down the on-form Vipers and also clean their record against them having lost both the games last season (2-0, 1-3)

They face a Vipers side that have won their last five league games without conceding a goal. They lay 3rd on the log with 20 points and at most hope of going up top after a win against Gaddafi.

All eyes will be on Karim Watambala, Cromwell Rothomio and Abubaker Lawal in the absence of Yunus Sentamu with hope that they can step up and score for the Venoms.

In the previous game at the Gaddafi Arena, Bright Anukani and a Milton Karisa brace were enough for the Venoms to seal a win away at Gaddafi.

Gaddafi lost away at KCCA FC 2-1 while Vipers beat SC Villa 2-0 in Kitende.

A win for Vipers will take them top of the Log with 23 points while Gaddafi it will take them up to 6th on 15 points.
