Startimes UPL: Maroons visit Lira to face SC Villa


It’s going to be the second game for SC Villa at home away from home as they host an exciting Maroons FC side in the Startimes Uganda Premier League at the Aki Bua stadium, Lira.

SC Villa lay 7th on the log with 14 points, 7 off the top and will hope to get back on track after two straight defeats against KCCA FC and Vipers SC.

Joogos who have a number of exciting talents under their umbrella will continue to believe that they will all click and get going like earlier in the season.

They will be boosted by the return of skillful midfielder Ivan Sserubiri who comes back after his yellow card suspension with readiness to run the show.

On the side of Maroons, just like Villa they too have had a drop in current with the Luzira side loosing and drawing twice in their last four games.

Maroons sit 11th on the table with 10 points and will hope to use the advantage that the Joogos are hosting their games in Lira without fans.

The Prisons side will look to Fred Amaku and Abraham Tusubira to lead their forward line after the goals they against URA in their last game where they drew 2-2 at home.

SC Villa lost away to Vipers 2-0 in their previous game while Maroons drew 2-2 at home against URA.

It will help SC Villa up to 5th with 17 points while for Maroons they would go up to 8th with 13 points.

SC Villa welcome back Ivan Sserubiri, Frank Kalule and Martin Elungat are back to the squad.

But will be without Nicholas Senono, Batambuze and Goffin Oyirwoth who are all injured.

Davis Ssekajja is also out with a red card.
