StarTimes UPL: URA winless streak extends to seven games, beaten by Gaddafi

Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club ( URA FC) are now winless in their last seven StarTimes Uganda Premier League games.

This is after they lost 2-1 to Gaddafi FC in a game played at Kakindu Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Andrew Waiswa and Mahad Yaya Kakooza scored the two goals for Gaddafi to pile more misery on the Tax Collectors.

Gaddafi got into the lead in the 19th minute after URA defender Najib Fesali had handled the ball in area. Andrew Waiswa stepped up and converted by sending goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi the wrong side.

The Solider boys doubled their lead in the 30th minute courtesy of Kakooza’s deflected shot from outside the box that flied past Alionzi.

The Tax Collectors were second best in the opening half as they struggled to fashion any meaningful chance upfront as the Gaddafi defence was watertight throughout the opening 45.

URA returned for the second half a much improved side and started creating a couple of chance towards Gaddafi goal

The Tax Collectors were rewarded with four minutes left on the clock after George Ssenkaaba found the back of the net following Vianne Ssekajungo’s wonderful run to set him up.

But Ssenkaaba’s goal proved just a consolation as Gaddafi held on in the later moments of the game to secure a deserved victory.

With today’s loss, the Tax Collectors’ extend their winless streak to seven, with their last victory in the league coming earlier in November when they defeated Arua Hill 1-0 in Nakisunga.

URA end the first round in 11th position with only 14 points in as many games.

For Gaddafi, they will head into the second round in seventh position with 21 points.
