Midfielder Ibrahim Kayiwa netted the late lone goal for Busoga United as they stunned Vipers SC 1-0 in Njeru.

Kayiwa’s goal came in the last minute of the 90 after a long throw-in by Peter Onzima.

The midfielder volleyed in after Siraje Sentamu headed Ozima’s throw in into his path.

Before Kayiwa scored for Busoga, Vipers had a couple of chances to break the deadlock but failed to find the target

Ibrahim Orit headed onto the post while Hillary Mukundane and Ashraf Mandela wasted their chances.

Tibita Laban had Busoga United’s only other chance of the game when he capitalized on poor defending by Mukundane to shot at goal, but he was denied superbly by Fabien Mutombora.

With the loss, Vipers misses out on a chance to go top of the Uganda Premier League log after the log leaders KCCA also lost 1-0 to Bright Stars in Kavumba.

The Venoms remain second on the log with 27 points, two adrift of KCCA.

For Busoga, they move to nine points and now are a point below the relegation line.
