Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ( KCCA FC) could go top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League standings with a win over Bidco Uganda Limited (BUL) Football Club on Friday evening at the Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe.
The Kasasiro Boys are only three points behind leaders UPDF who have garnered 12 points and any win over the Jinja based side could take them temporarily above anyone else on the table.
However, in BUL FC, they face a tricky task following their encounter last season when the hosts shocked the visitors to a 3-0 loss in Jinja thanks to goals from Richard Wandyaka, Robert Mukongotya and Musa Esenu.
Fast forward this season, Mike Mutebi started his season very well, comfortably winning their his first three games (Bright Stars, Onduparaka and Mbarara City) before faltered the next two, losing 2-1 to SC Villa away from home only to also lose to URA FC a few days later.
Having endured those two losses before the CHAN break, Mike Mutebi called upon his team to make a swift reaction as the League resumes.
“The break has helped us with some of the injured players recovering from injury. The squad is well prepared and rearing to go and have a reaction, especially after that loss to URA,” Mutebi said in a press conference.
“We have to react, it is going to be very competitive with 8 clubs able to win the league, but as KCCA FC, we are not going to worry about others, we have to perfect our act,” he added.
Mutebi’s side will miss the services of six players who are away with the Hippos in Mauritania (Steven Sserwadda, Musa Ramathan, Joseph Kizza Bukenya, Sam Ssenyonjo, Joseph Kafumbe, and Andrew Kawooya) while four (Sadat Anaku, Gift Ali, John Revita, Dominic Stella and Julius Poloto) remain sidelined with injuries.
On the other hand, the hosts, BUL FC haven’t had a start they wished for after finishing in 6th last season. They have won just one of their opening five games and sit 12th on the standings with four points.
The two sides have met eight times since 2011 with the Kasasiro Boys winning three of these encounters, while three have ended in draws.
