KCCA FC were 2-0 winners against Ntungasaze FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League match played at Kiira Road Playground on Tuesday evening securing their third league victory.

Goals from club captain Herbert Achai and second half substitute Emmanuel Anyama were enough to ensure that the Kasasiro boys walk home with three points in the bag.

Head coach Brian Senyondo expressed satisfaction with his team’s steady improvement, despite continued struggles to convert scoring opportunities.

He acknowledged that his players created numerous chances, particularly in the first half, but failed to make the most of them. He noted that the team could have gone into the break with a two- or three-goal advantage had they been more clinical in front of goal but only settled for a 1-0 score.

However, he welcomed the team’s ability to score a second goal, describing it as a positive sign of progress with every game when striker Emmanuel Anyama came off the bench to put the visitors in a comfortable 2-0 lead.

“We created very many chances in the first half. We could have been two or three goals up, but we didn’t manage to do that. At least today we scored the second goal, which is good. This means we are growing with every game,” he said.

The coach also highlighted the importance of competition within the squad, explaining that the quality and depth available gives every player the motivation to work harder and fight for a place in the starting team.

He pointed out that players introduced from the bench, including Anyama and CharlesLwanga, are equally determined to make an impact whenever they are given an opportunity.

According to the coach, this healthy competition is beneficial to the team because it encourages players to maintain high standards and gives the technical team different options during matches.

The coach further praised defender Herbert Achayi for offering more than defensive solidity, noting that his attacking contributions, particularly from set pieces, provide the team with an additional dimension.

He explained that Achayi had demonstrated his ability to contribute goals and assists last season, making him a valuable option during free kicks and corner kicks.

“We are happy that among the set pieces we got, at least one was buried,” the coach added.

Despite the remaining concern over missed opportunities, the coach believes the team is moving in the right direction as it continues to work towards becoming more clinical and consistent in the league.
