Alex Isabirye’s Express has defeated Vipers SC 2-0 at Muteesa 2 stadium Wankulukuku in match day thirteen of Star Times Uganda Premier League on Saturday evening.

Left back, Isma Kawawulo put the hosts in the lead in the 38th minute through a short in right bottom corner of the goal utilizing Emmanuel Waswa’s blocked free kick.

With 13 minutes left on the game, Isaac Wagoina doubled the hosts’ lead after a great Andrew Kaggwa assist.

Into the game, Express dominated the first half through several attacks from Alpha Thierry Ssali on the left, Isaac Wagoina in the center forward and Steven Senfuma on the right.

Vipers had limited goal scoring opportunities despite Allan Okello, Yunus Ssentamu and Eric Kambale starting the game.

The hosts started the second half on a very low key as the visitors dominated the game despite scoring a goal in the 77th minute.

Defenders, Arthur Kiggundu, Isma Kawawulo and Muzeeyi Lumu stopped most of the venoms deadly attacks while goalkeeper, Abdul Kimera saved several shots

The Venoms were so dominant through out the second half despite conceding a goal. Yunus Ssentamu, Bright Anukani and substitutes, Milton Karisa, Mohammed Salem kept on making deadly unsuccessful attacks due to strong defense of the opponent.

This was Alex Isabirye’s second win at Express since he replaced the sucked coach Odoch as for the Venoms it was a second defeated in a row after losing last Friday to the table leaders, BUL.

Express is now in the 8th position of the Star Times uganda premier leaguewith 19 points while Vipers in the 4th position with 24 points after thirteen matches.

The Red Eagles will travel to Adjuman to play the struggling Arua Hills on 3rd January, 2024 while the Venoms will host NEC on the same day.
