Seven-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC will be looking to close the gap separating them from table-toppers BUL FC when they visit Busoga United in Jinja on Wednesday evening.

After defeating the BUL FC 1-0 last week, the Red Eagles find themselves only three adrift of top place and currently sit sixth on the log with 11 points, having played a game less.

Express come into this fixture having won their last two games and they are unbeaten in three games since they suffered their first loss of the season against Villa a month ago.

Busoga United also head into this fixture having won their last league game via the weekend courtesy of Tibita Laban’s lone goal in Bombo.

But before that, they had lost five of their opening six games in the league with the only exception being a 2-0 victory over Blacks Power in Matchday two.

With victory over Express, Busoga United could surpass Bright Stars and Maroons FC on the league log as they would move to 10th spot with nine points.

This match will serve as a reunion between Ntege Anwar Mustafa and his former paymaster Busoga United as the striker will be returning to Jinja to face his former paymasters.

Team News

Express FC will be without midfielder Hussein Ssenonga who is out suspended after accumulating three yellow cards.
Goalkeeper David Lukwago and midfielder Yusuf Ssozi also are out with ACL and a knee injury respectively, while defensive midfielder Aboubakar Kasule is going through his rehabilitation in USA from a torn muscle on his left knee.

Midfielder Faisal Ssekyanzi is ill and he is out of Wednesday’s game while Forward Allan Kayiwa, midfielders Ivan Mayanja, and Enock Ssebagala will require a late fitness test in order to feature.
