The StarTimes Uganda Premier League game between Busoga United and Express FC was halted in injury time by the center referee after fans threw stones onto the pitch in protest of the day’s officiating.
This happened in the added time of the game after Allan Kayiwa had.put the Red Eagles ahead in 87th minute.
Kayiwa stood up and converted his freekick from just outside the area after Ibrahim Kayiwa was judged to have handled the ball.
Before Kayiwa’s goal, Express had several chances to break the deadlock but Marvin Oshaba, Kayiwa and Joseph Akandwanaho failed to beat Michael Lutaaya, the Busoga United goalkeeper.
It’s now left to be seen if Express will be awarded their full points by the UPL Secretariat in the next few days as the game failed to finish.
