Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Musa Mudde were on target on Friday evening to hand UPDF FC a 2-1 victory Busoga United in Bombo.
Ahimbisibwe netted in the opening half while Mudde got on the score sheet in the closing half to ensure the Army side returned to winning ways.
Mulanda Sunday netted Busoga’s consolation on the day.
Ahimbisibwe gave UPDF the lead in the 23rd minute, heading in a well calculated Mugisha Rogers cross.
But before that goal, Yiga Frank squadded a brilliant chance to put UPDF ahead ahead after a wonderful Mugisha cross.
The game went into the break with the hosts holding a slim 1-0 lead over the visitors.
Just like the opening half, UPDF dominated most of the proceedings and got rewarded in the 75th minute with a Musa Mudde free kick that went past Michael Nantamu and into the back of the net to extend the Army side’s lead.
Busoga United’s best chances of the game fell to striker Anwar Ntege who failed to get the ball past custodian Wasswa Yusuf who numerous occasions.
Ntege failed to find the target after being set up by Edrine Opaala before he also wasted a Shaka Ssozi cross.
While also Paul Ssekulime was also denied by a late Douglas Oyirwoth goal-line clearance.
Before the death of the game, Sunday pulled a goal back for Busoga but it came too little too late.
With the victory, UPDF moves fifth on the log with 11 points in 7 games and will play Tooro United next on Tuesday.
While Busoga United will host Arua Hill SC at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
