Striker Mohammad Shaban netted his first goal of the season in his side’s defeat to SC Villa at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Shaban put Onduparaka ahead early in the first half with a well take strike following a wonderful Baden Mujahid chip that eluded the entire Villa back line.

That goal was Shaban’s first since he rejoined the Caterpillar in September.

With 24 minutes on the clock, youngster Abdallah Salim levelled matters for Villa with a cheeky side-footed strike from outside the box that oozed past Mathias Muwanga in the Onduparaka posts.

With just seven minutes to the break, Villa went ahead with Isaac Ogwang finishing off a neatly constructed move by the SC Villa players.

Onduparaka had to play most of the closing half a man less after Rashid Okocha was sent off by Referee Ashaaduh Ssemerere for a second bookable offense.

Despite having a numerical advantage, SC Villa lived dangerously in the closing exchanges and held on to pick a much needed victory.

SC Villa, who get to seven points in their opening five games will play Mbarara City next on Tuesday.

While Onduparaka will host Express FC next.
