Express FC returned to winning ways on Friday evening with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Onduparaka at Mutessa II Stadium, Wakulukuku.
Allan Kayiwa (2), Boban Ziritunsa and Marvin Oshaba netted the goals which consequentialy ended the Red Eagles winnless run.
Express started off the game well and were awarded a penalty in the 10th minute but Ziritunsa unluckily had his kick saved by goalkeeper Anthony Okello.
But just moments later, Ziritunsa made up for his early miss with a header at the near post to put Express ahead.
Express were unlucky to go into the break leading by just one goal as Ziritunsa and Arthur Kiggundu failed to find the target. Ziritunsa rattled the crossbar while Kiggundu sent his header just wide.
Few minutes into the closing half, Express had Denis Ngoobi sent off by Referee Richard Kimbowa for an aggressive challenge on William Gama.
Despite being a man down, Express doubled their lead in the 70th minute through Kayiwa’s spotkick after the former Vipers winger was brought down in the forbidden area by Rashid.
With three minutes left on the clock, Kayiwa got his second of the game by firing in a freekick into the top corner after being initially fouled just outside the box.
Before the game could end, Express added a fourth through Oshaba before Onduparaka pulled one back from the spot through William Gama.
The victory takes Express FC to 22 points in 11th position on the log while Onduparaka remains bottom with just 10 points.
Express will play BUL next while Onduparaka next game will be against BUL FC.
