Diaspora: Mukwala, Najjemba net braces while Kakeeto, Esenu get one each – How Uganda’s pros fared over the weekend

It was yet again another fruitful weekend for Uganda’s foreign based players across the globe. A couple of them got ample playing time and even got on the score sheets for their respective clubs.

Both Steven Mukwala and Fauzia Najjemba netted twice while Robert Kakeeto and Musa Esenu had one each – this is how these four and a couple of others fared over the weekend.

Starting off in England, Jordan Obita was absent from Wycombe Wanderers match day squad as they drew 2-all with MK Dons in the English Football league One.

Nathan Odokonyero played all minutes for Bognor Regis as they lost 1-0 to Billericay Town in the English Isthmian League.

In the English League One, Giouse Bellagambi was an unused substitute for Salford United as they drew 1-all with Stockport.

In Scotland, Sadat Anaku was introduced on in the 76th for Steven Fletcher as his Dundee United side lost 2-0 to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

Still in Scotland, Bevis Mugabi was an unused substitute for Motherwell as they secured a 3-1 victory over Hibernian.

In Germany, Herbert Bockhorn started and played 73 minutes for 1.FC Magdeburg as they defeated Hansa by three goals to nil in the German 2. Bundesliga.

In the German Regionalliga, Melvyn Lorezen was out with a knee injury as his Wormatia VFR side defeated Eintracht Trier 3-0.

In USA, Steven Sserwadda never featured for New York Red Bulls as they lost 1-0 to Atlanta United in the Major League Soccer.

Frank Ssebuufu made his debut for New York Red Bulls II and scored one of the spotkicks as they defeated Atlanta United 5-4 in penalties after a 1-all stalement.

In Israel, Timothy Awanyi featured fulltime and got a yellow card for Ashdod SC as they defeated Maccabi Netanya 3-2 in the Israeli Premiership playoff game.

In Denmark, Moses Opondo featured fulltime for AC Horsens as they lost 4-0 to AaB in the Danish Superliga playoff game.

Still in Denmark, Robert Kakeeto scored the only goal for Middelfart Boldkub as they defeated Naesby in the Danish 3rd Division.

In Czech Republic, Both Fahad Bayo and Musa Ramathan featured fulltime for MFK Vyskov as they lost 1-0 to Dukla Prague in the Czech Republic Division 2.

Still in Czech Republic, Isaac Muleme also featured fulltime for Viktoria Zizkov as they defeated Chlumec nad Cidlinou 3-1 in the Football League.

In Azerbaijan, Kizito Luwagga played the last two minutes for Sabail SC as they lost 1-0 to Kapaz in the Azerbaijan Premier League.

In Ghana, Steven Mukwala got a brace for Asante Kotoko as they defeated Tamale 4-0 in the First Capital Plus Premier League. Mukwala first came from the spot in the 48th minute before getting his second in the 63rd minute.

In Egypt, Joseph Ochaya played 80 minutes for Al Mokawloon as they drew goalless with Ceramica Cleopatra in the Egyptian Premier League.

In the CAF Champions League, Denis Onyango didn’t make it to the Mamelodi Sundowns match day squad as they defeated Cotton Sport 2-1

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Khalid Aucho didn’t make it to Young Africans match day squad as they defeated TP Mazembe 1-0 to go top of group D.

Allan Kateregga was on target for Saint Eloi Lupopo as they failed to beat Ismail Watenga’s Marumo Gallants in South Africa. The game ended 3-2 despite Lupopo having held a 2-0 lead at halftime.

In Russia, Fauzia Najjemba netted twice for Dynamo Moscow as they drew 2-all with Zvezda 2005 in the Russian Supreme Women’s Division.

Musa Esenu was on target for Rayon Sport as they lost to Police FC 4-2 in Rwanda Premier League. Joachim Ojera also featured for Rayon Sport.

Nicholas Sebwato started in goal for Mukura Victory as they lost 1-0 to AS Kigali.
