StarTimes FBL: Calvary hands Kataka first loss as Ndejje fight from behind to overcome Proline


The StarTimes FUFA Big League continued on Thursday afternoon with five match-day eight fixtures on the card.

Log leaders Kataka surrendered to a first loss of the season while Ndejje University had to come from behind to defeat Proline.

This is a wrap of all the match day eight action in the StarTimes FUFA Big League.

Starting off at the AbaBet Greenlight Stadium, Vitalis Tabu netted early on from the spot for Calvary FC as they defeated Kataka FC 1-0.

Tabu’s goal came in the 4th minute of the game to subject Kataka to their first loss of the season.

Kataka, who had won four and drawn two of their opening six games stay top of the log with 14 points while Calvary move to sixth on the log with 11 points.

In Lugogo, Ndejje University came from a goal down to defeat Proline FC 2-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

Noordin Bunjo gave Proline the lead but Joseph Okello and Vincent Abigaba scored in quick succession for the University side to steal the three points.

With the victory, Ndejje move to fourth place on the log with 11 points in 7 games while the loss saw Proline drop to seventh with 10 points in eight games.

At the Masindi Stadium, Kitara FC took care of Maroons FC 3-1.

Kizito Zakayo, Oscar Munihizi and Oscar Lomoro got on the scoresheet for Kitara while Fred Amaku got Maroons consolation of the day.

With the loss, Maroons stay second on the log with 12 points in 8 games while victory takes Kitara to fifth spot on the log with 11 points in 7 games.

In Tororo, Derrick Mudali netted late to propel Luwero United past MYDA FC at King George IV Memorial Stadium.

Mudali’s goal takes Luwero to eighth on the log with 10 points garnered in 7 games, while MYDA stays bottom with only 4 points.

At the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara, Daniel Otim netted a brace as Blacks Power defeated Nyamityobora 3-1.

James Okiror netted the other goal for Blacks Power who move to third position on the log with 11 points in seven games.
