Stanbic Uganda Cup: NEC brush off BUL to head into maiden final

National Enterprise Corporation Football Club (NEC FC) advanced to their first ever Stanbic Uganda Cup final on Saturday evening at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

The Lugogo side won with a commanding 2-0 scoreline to eliminate Eastern Giants, BUL FC in the return leg of their semifinal.

NEC ‘s two goals were scored by Joseph Dhata who scored in the first leg and forward Cromwel Rwothomio to put up 3-1 on aggregate following their 1-1 stalemate in the first leg.

This was Dhata’s sixth goal in the Uganda Cup and 12th across all competitions numbers he had never raised in his career.

For BUL FC, they leave this year’s tournament as the only former winners of the competition an indication that a new champion will be crowned .

Abbey Kikomeko’s side will now turn focus on the Uganda Premier league where they are currently at the summit with 49 points.

On Sunday, will await to see who they meet on the final between Kitara FC and Pajule Lions.

In that tie, Kitara lead 3-1 on aggregate thanks to their first leg win in Masindi.
