Uganda Premier League side BUL FC have confirmed the departure of ten players as the club embarks on a major squad rebuild ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Jinja-based club announced on Friday that all players whose contracts expired at the end of the 2025/26 campaign will leave the club after their deals were not renewed.

The decision comes after a season in which BUL finished ninth in the Uganda Premier League standings with 37 points from 30 matches, recording nine wins, ten draws and eleven defeats.

According to the club, the move follows a comprehensive end-of-season review and forms part of a long-term strategy aimed at refreshing the squad, promoting emerging talent from its development structures, and building a team capable of competing at the highest level.

The players set to leave BUL FC are Ibrahim Orit, Fredrick Ngalo, Bakali Magumda, Viane Sekajugo, Thomas Ochungo, Jeromy Kirya, Nicholas Mwere, Julius Barasa, Isaac Wagoina and Karim Ndugwa.

In a statement, BUL FC thanked the departing players for their dedication and contribution to the club.

“As we close the chapter on another season, BUL FC extends its sincere appreciation to every player who has worn the green and yellow with pride,” the statement read.

“To every player leaving us: thank you for your service, commitment and contribution to the Eastern Giants. You will always be part of the BUL FC family. We wish you every success in the next step of your careers.”

Among the notable departures are experienced forward Karim Ndugwa and midfielder Ibrahim Orit, who have both been key figures for the club in recent seasons.

The departures signal the start of a new chapter for the Eastern Giants, who are expected to place greater emphasis on youth development while also strengthening key areas of the squad through new signings.

BUL FC have confirmed that recruitment plans are already underway, with announcements regarding retained players and new arrivals set to be made in the coming weeks as the club seeks to improve on its ninth-place finish and challenge higher up the table next season.
