Semi-final results
- St Mary’s Kitende (9)0-0(10) Amus College
- St Julian High (4)0-0(2) Bukedea C/S
Mukono champions St Julian and Teso region champions Amus College stormed the USSSA National boys’ football finals on Saturday after their respective wins at the Kitovu playground.
St Julian put out Bukedea Comprehensive in a shootout 4-2 after drawing 0-0 in normal time on a slippery wet surface.
On the otherside, Amus College eliminated defending champions St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende 10-9 on penalties after a barren draw in normal time to reach the final.
Earlier in the day, the semifinal was slated to be between Jinja Progressive (JIPRA) and St Mary’s School Kitende but Amus launched a petition.
Late on in the afternoon on Saturday, the USSSA Disciplinary committee discovered that JIPRA had used four ineligible players at the Quaterfinal stage.
Former Onduparaka Forward Jarieko James, Kibirango Eric, Mpasa Swabil and Yasin Masamba were the players in question.
This meant that JIPRA were to be eliminated only for Amus College to progress onto the semifinal.
Amus is coached by former KCCA and Mawokota coach Richard Malinga while St Julian is coached by former Gomba head coach Felix Ssekabuuza who is currently at Gaddafi FC
On Sunday, the stage will be set for exhibition of skills in search of National glory as St Julian High School, Seeta will take on Amus College.
