Stanbic Uganda Cup: Bright Stars humiliate Nakapelim to advance to Round of 32


Soltilo Bright Stars have comfortably advanced to the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 after humiliating Nakapelimen in Moroto.

The Stars put eight goals past the North Eastern Regional side in a game played on Saturday.

Emmanuel Loki had a hat-trick while Ibrahim Kasinde and Samuel Ssenyonjo scored two as the Uganda Premier League side eased to victory. Kaka Omonyi scored the other goal for Bright Stars.

Bright Stars join Vipers SC, BUL FC, SC Villa, Wakiso Giants , Onduparaka and Blacks Power as the other Uganda Premier League sides in the round of 32. Gaddafi and Maroons failed to progress after losing their games.

Bright Stars’ best appearance in the Stanbic Uganda Cup came in 2019 when they reached the final only to defeated by Proline FC.

In the other games played on the day, Paidha Black Angels defeated Kyetume FC 5-4 in penalties, Mbarara defeated Tawai SC 1-0, Packwach Young lost 1-0 to Onduparaka while Kaaro Karungi was defeated 2-0 by Bunyaruguru United.
