Review: Proline misses out on group stages on the last huddle in the CAF Confederation Cup


The journey for Proline Football Club in the CAF Confederation Cup comes to an end after losing to Libyan Club, Al-Nasr Benghazi 2-0 at home.

Proline was playing on the continent for their first time, and someone should say, they tried. However, for the football lovers will say Proline has missed out on the money bracket for failing to reach the group stages.

Proline held Al-Nasr to a 2-2 draw away in Alexandria thanks to goals from Mujuzi Mustafa and Bright Anukani. It was all about the belief  that they can complete the job at home. However, results came in a different package.

Proline Started the game at a slow pace and with in the first 5 minutes of the game defender Bernard Muwanga made had already given away possession  for the visitors to grab one on the break.

Proline seemed to improve a little when coach Matia Lule made 2 substitutes in the opening minutes of the second half. Sam Kintu made way for Joshua Okiror, then Serunjogi also gave way to Egaku.

In the 53rd minute, as they were trying to push for a leveler, Proline were caught out numbered, and it was at that moment that Ibrahim Osama doubled the vistors lead.

2-0 it ended and Proline were ejected from this year’s CAF Confederation Cup on a 4-2 aggregate.
