Review: MYDA go 4 points clear as Water registers maiden win – A look at the FUFA Big le

Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) extended their lead at the summit of the Elgon Group to 4 points after easing past struggling Katwe United 2-0 on Sunday evening.

Ibrah Nsimbe opened the scoring for the Tororo side with an 8th minutes sublime strike to give MYDA an early lead. In the 33rd minute, Nsimbe doubled MYDA’s lead with a Controvesial second goal after fouling  Katwe United defender Wasswa in the buildup to the goal.

Katwe United finished the game with 10 men after Eric Dhaira was sent off for misconduct towards the referee after conceding the second goal.

MYDA FC have now collected 12 points from the first 6 games and sit top of the Elgon Group while Katwe United sit second bottom with 4 points in 5 games.

In Mbale, Richard Makumbi’s charges extended their unbeaten run to 4 games as Kiboga Young drew 1-1 with Kataka FC. Luuka scored his third goal in 3 games to give Kiboga Young the lead before Tifu Kahande equalised for Kataka before halftime.

In Soroti, Bukedea TC edged past neighbours Light SS courtesy of John Otim’s first half own goal.

In the Rwenzori group, Water FC picked up their first league win of the season with a hard fought 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Dove FC at Luzira Prisons grounds.

In Hoima, Kitara FC came from a goal down to force a 1-all draw against promotional aspirants Ndejje University. Sula Tumusime gifted the lions an early lead before Godfrey Abigaba levelled later on for the home side.

Ndejje University who have collected 11 points in 5 games top the Rwenzori group while Kitara FC is third with 9 points in 5 games

Dickson Niwamanya’s first half strike was enough to gift Kigezi Homeboys a slim 1-0 win over New Villa in Kabale.

Action resumes on Monday 4th November with two games from both groups.

Paidha Black Angels will host Saviours FC in Zombo while UPDF and Kansai Plascon will Battle out at Bombo grounds.
