Pilsner UPL Awards: Express duo scoop May gongs

Express FC forward Erick Kambale and Coach Charles Wasswa Bbosa have been voted Uganda Premier League’s best for the month of May.

The duo was crowned on Monday morning in an event held at the Kati Kati restaurant and take home one million shillings each courtesy of Award sponsors, Pilsner Lager

Kambale beat URA FC striker Steven Mukwala and Wakiso Giants’ Vianey Ssekajugo for the player of the month after netting eight goals in five games.

He had a hat-trick against Kyetume in Nakisunga, a brace against Kitara and a goal against each of UPDF, Busoga United and Police, a feat that also helped him win the Fortbet Real Stars Award for the month of May in the football category.

Bbosa edged URA’s Sam Ssimbwa and Wakiso Giants’ Douglas Bamweyana for the best coach of the month of May.

Bbosa guided his side to the top of the StarTimes UPL log with five wins in five games in May.

Soltilo Bright Stars duo of Samuel Ssekamate Kayongo and Baker Mbowa won the April’s Pilsner Player of the Month and Coach of the Month Awards respectively.
